OUR STORY
Christ Encounter Ministries was started as a small home church meeting, when senior Pastors Karl & Amelia Bezuidenhout answered the call of God to begin the journey of pastoral ministry in Langebaan Western Cape.
Reluctant at first, they stood on the Word of God in Psalms 127:1 “Unless the Lord build the House, its builders labour in vain” & said to the Lord that they would be obedient & follow His leading as He builds His church, and so the first few services began in their lounge with the congregation consisting of only their two daughters.
As time passed by, word got out & one person visited for a few times, then two, then more & Jesus has been building His church ever since & will continue as we remain steadfast & faithful to His calling.

The ministry is really all about Jesus Christ, with the focus, & the spotlight always firmly on Him with the primary objective of advancing His Kingdom.
Our motto at Christ Encounter Ministries is ‘Keeping it Real’ where ‘real’ people from all walks of life, regardless of culture, creed or condition come together & encounter a ‘real’ & Living God in a real & tangible way, & lives are visibly changed in the process.
We believe according to scripture that God wants to be ‘known’ by His people in an intimate & personal way, & not the distant God only ‘read about’, & ‘hear about’, but never really ‘know’ personally, & so we strive to equip the people to have this lifelong ‘Christ Encounter’ & relationship with Jesus Christ which is the basis of true Christianity & salvation.
John 17:3 “Now this is eternal life: that they may know (know absolutely, be aware of, feel, perceive) You, the only true [supreme and sovereign] God, and [in the same manner know] Jesus [as the] Christ whom You have sent.
Our heartbeat is quite simply this: that we are a bunch of imperfect but authentic people, who are doing their best to pursue a Perfect & loving Father, & inviting you to jump right in and join us on this exciting journey of growth & discovery of Jesus Christ through this life, & life eternally hereafter.

LEARNING WHILE HAVING FUN
We know that the children are precious gifts from God, who are growing up in an ever increasingly dark world, facing challenges that adults of today never faced in their youth, and now more than ever the children of today need to be equipped & trained in the ways of the Lord, providing a solid foundation to carry them strongly & victoriously through life’s journey.
We also believe that kids must still be kids & that Sunday school should be a highlight of their week, and they should be excited to come & enjoy being in the presence of their loving Father learning all about Him, & still having loads of fun in the process.
GIVING CHEERFULLY
We believe that according to the scriptures the Church of Jesus Christ represented by the members of the Church is not meant to be in poverty, but rather must be an overcoming & prosperous Church where lack is totally abolished, & the Church of Jesus Christ functions in responsible financial overflow, & is thereby able to be a blessing to others & able to spread the gospel.
